Mr. Mumitul Islam

With over 7 years of extensive experience in Investment Research and Portfolio Management, Mr. Mumitul Islam has built a strong track record in the asset management industry. He previously led the research team at Impress Capital Limited, where he played a key role in supporting portfolio management decisions for assets worth approximately BDT 100 crore. Prior to this, he gained valuable expertise as a Sell-side Analyst at a leading brokerage firm. Mr. Islam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from North South University and has successfully completed CFA Level 1. Mr. Abdul kader Raju

Mr. Raju began his Research & Investment career back in 2022 with a top equity brokerage firm in Bangladesh as an Equity Research Analyst, where he covered Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Engineering, and Cement sectors along with the key macroeconomic indicators of the country. His work and expertise focus on Investment Research and Portfolio Management, with 2 years of experience in Sell-side Equity Research and more than one year of experience in Portfolio Management. Mr. Abrar Bin Rashid

Mr. Farhan Uddin Ahmed

Senior Executive, Investment Research

Mr. Farhan joined Green Delta Dragon as Analyst in May 2023.  He previously worked at LightCastle Partners and EBL Securities Limited. He has experience in macro-economic research and financial analysis. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Finance from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has passed Chartered Finance Analyst (CFA) Level 2 from the CFA Institute, USA.

Ms. Nusrat Jahan Niloy

Executive, Investment Research

Ms. Nusrat joined Green Delta Dragon as Analyst in March 2022. She started her career at British American Tobacco Co. Bangladesh in July 2019. She has experience in diverse roles including financial accounting, audit and reporting.  Being an ACCA affiliate, she is well-versed in International Financial Reporting Standards, International Accounting Standards and International Standards on Auditing. Nusrat graduated in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

Ms. Umme Maksuda Lucky

Assistant Manager, Investment Research

Ms. Lucky has 6 (Six) years of experience in buy-side research as an Investment Analyst. Prior to joining Green Delta Dragon in 2022, she started her career at AIMS of Bangladesh Limited in 2019 where she was responsible for macro-economic analysis and equity valuation. Her keen interest and passion for the equity industry earned her the necessary skills required in the field. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree majoring in Finance from the University of Dhaka and is currently pursuing the Chartered Finance Analyst (CFA) from CFA Institute, USA.

Mr. Mohammad Asrarul Haque

Senior Manager, Investment Research

Mr. Haque has almost a decade of extensive professional experience in the field of equity research and investment analysis.  Prior to joining Green Delta Dragon, he was the Team Leader at EBL Securities Ltd Equity Research Department. Haque is highly adept at business modeling and organizational performance analysis based on financial & non-financial metrics and has both extensive buy-side and sell-side research experience. He managed a core research team at EBL Securities Limited, where he initiated several successful global research distribution agreements with partners like, Bloomberg, Eikon Refinitiv, CFA ARX, Research Pool, RSRX, 1857 Advisors etc.  Mr. Haque has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Dhaka and is presently studying for a Master of Science Degree in Economics from North South University.  He also pursuing CFA credentials from the CFA Institute, USA and has passed the CFA Level 1 Examination.

    Mr. Sorwar Hossain

    Mr. Sorwar Hossain joined Green Delta Dragon Asset Management Company Limited. as the Assistant Manager of Accounts & Finance in February 2022. Prior to joining Green Delta Dragon Asset Management Company Limited, he worked at Capitec Asset Management Limited for more than three years. During that time, along with the operation of Accounts and Finance of the Company and undertook different responsibilities ranging from preparing the financial statements of an AMC, different mutual funds, corporate tax & Vat. Mr. Sorwar obtained his MBA with a major in Finance & Banking from the International Islamic University of Chittagong also pursuing Chartered Management Accountancy at The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). Hasan has over 20 years of experience in the field of Finance and Accounts in various Local and Multinational Companies from various sectors including telecommunications, insurance, real estate, and IT. Hasan’s vast career of over 2 decades gave him the expertise in reporting and planning and providing unique financial insights for every strategic decision making. He has professional and leadership proficiency in financial and audit services, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash management and strategic planning. His eventful career acquired him the robustness, adaptivity and dynamism towards accomplishing his role. Hasan completed his MBA in Finance and finished professional level of Chartered Accountancy under ICAB.

    Mr. Shahbaj Talat

    Mr. Talat was appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of Green Delta Dragon Asset Management Company Limited at its inception. Talat is a seasoned corporate and investment banking professional with more than 18 (eighteen) years of experience in corporate banking and fund management at top-tier private commercial banks in Bangladesh. Prior to joining GDDA, he was the Executive Vice President & Dhaka Area Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking at Prime Bank Limited, where he managed a portfolio of approximately US$ 1 bln. (United States Dollars one billion). Talat is an experienced manager and is highly adept in risk management and business development. He completed a Bachelor of Business Administration with Major in Finance from the University of Dhaka.

    SYED ALIUL AHBAB FCCA

    Syed Aliul Ahbab is the Finance Controller of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited and oversees the operation of the finance and accounts function of the organization including overseeing and supervising the financial reporting and regulatory reporting processes. He is also involved in assisting strategy designing and implementation and continuous process development within the finance function of the Company. Ahbab is a fellow member of the Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK). Ahbab has also worked as a Senior Manager, Corporate Finance at KPMG in Bangladesh. At KPMG, he was the responsible manager for Deal Advisory and Corporate Finance engagements he has experience of working jointly with many other KPMG offices across the globe. Ahbab has extensive knowledge and experience in Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Budgeting, Statutory & Internal Audit, Internal Control Systems development and Corporate Finance backed up by proficiency on International Financial Reporting Standards, local Tax & VAT laws and Companies Act of Bangladesh.Ahbab’s working experience covers many industries and service sectors, which includes Insurance, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Textile and Garments, Travel & Tourism, Power, Real Estate, Super Stores, Securities & Stock Exchange and Technology.

    QUYEN DUONG DO

    Quyen graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2003 with a Master’s Degree in commerce, and joined Mekong Capital, a Vietnam-focused PE firm, in the same year. She initially worked as a deal partner, and then in 2006 was put in charge of due diligence and execution. In 2007, she led the fund raising of the $100m Vietnam Azalea Fund. She managed the Fund, and served on its Board of Directors and its Investment Committee. Quyen left Mekong Capital in 2008 to become the Vietnam Consultant at Lombard Investments, a PE firm operating in Southeast Asia. In 2010 she joined Dragon Capital as Head of Private Equity and was promoted to lead the Principal Investments department of Dragon Capital in 2017.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Mr. Ahmed possesses an extensive experience in the banking and financial industry. Majoring in Finance from the University of Dhaka, he started his career at Southeast Bank and then worked in various roles with several reputed commercial banks in Bangladesh for significant periods of his career prior to joining the GDIC in 2009 and subsequently taking over the role as an Additional Managing Director and Company Secretary. Since joining GDIC, he has assumed senior management roles encommpassing managing Board affairs and engaging in business development, business process optimization, forging strategic alliances, human resource development and implementation of special projects and best practices. Mr. Ahmed’s contribution in evolving the GDIC Group into its present exalted status has been a highlight of his long and illustrious career.

    DOMINIC SCRIVEN, OBE

    Mr. Scriven is the Chairman & Co-Founder of the Dragon Capital Group. Mr. Scriven graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Law and Sociology in 1985. Soon after, he came out to Hong Kong, where he worked in fund management and broking, with firms such as M&G, Sun Hung Kai, Citicorp and Peregrine. In 1991 he moved to Vietnam. He studied Vietnamese for two years in Hanoi, achieving full fluency, and then co-founded Dragon Capital in 1994. Mr. Scriven was awarded an OBE in 2006 for his contribution to relations between the United Kingdom and Vietnam. He sits on the Board of several public companies and is an active advocate for development of the country’s capital markets. For his work in Vietnam, he received a Recognition Award from the HCMC People’s Committee in 2008, and an Order of Labor Medal from the Vietnamese Government in 2014.

    FARZANAH CHOWDHURY

    Ms. Farzanah Chowdhury, Chartered Insurer (ACII, UK), is the Managing Director & CEO of Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd. (GDIC). Being the first female Managing Director & CEO within the finance sector in Bangladesh, Ms. Chowdhury promotes the modernization of the industry to provide “Insurance for Everyone”. She has pioneered the first comprehensive insurance scheme for women in Bangladesh – Nibedita – and is heavily engaged in the empowerment of Bengali women and youth via education and the eradication of poverty. Ms. Chowdhury was recognized as a Local Social Development Goals (SDG) Pioneer in 2016 by the UN Global Compact in the Global Leaders’ Summit announced by H.E. Ban Ki-moon. She is one of the only ten individuals in the world to have received this accolade for her work in achieving SDG 5 for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. Prior to joining GDIC in 1998, Ms. Chowdhury worked in the field of micro-finance with BRAC and Small and Medium Enterprise financing with BRAC Bank Ltd., where she was deeply involved in the design, development and implementation of insurance products. Ms. Chowdhury received an MBA from Monash Business School, Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and has a Diploma in Insurance from The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII-UK) and from the Malaysian Insurance Institute (DMII).

    MD. RAFIQUL ISLAM

    Director & Vice Chairman

    Md. Rafiqul Islam is an Investment Banker with almost 20 years of experience. He has built his career on advising clients around debt, equity and M&As in various sectors across the South Asian & Southeast Asian regions to create sustainable impact with acceptable financial returns. He advised & structured many M&As transaction across the south and southeast Asian regions including the first ever cross-border acquisition transaction for a Bangladeshi conglomerate. He was elected in various leadership position in Bangladesh such as Chairman of FDI Standing Committee of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BMCCI) for 2018-19 and Member of Sub Committee on Investment 2018 of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI). He obtained certificate course on Business, International Relations and the Political Economy from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

    Mr. Hoess has worked for Dragon Capital Management (HK) Ltd. for over 10 years as the Head of its Financial Institutions Group and the Investment Manager of Dragon Capital’s Mekong Brahmaputra Clean Development Fund L.P. Prior to joining Dragon Capital, Mr. Hoess worked as a career expatriate for ABN AMRO Bank NV from 1991-2006. While with ABN AMRO, Mr. Hoess was posted in the United States, Europe, Brazil, China, Singapore and Thailand. He has held several senior positions in both commercial and investment banking capacities, with his last posting being Country Manager in Thailand. Mr. Hoess has a B.A. in History from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
